Happy New Year!!!

Oh My Goodness! I can't believe it's been this long since I updated my blog! I am so sorry! Work has taken me away from everything I love and miss! I am currently working close to full-time in the retail business and this past Christmas season was just crazy! I hope to get back to my passion of sewing and creating very soon.

I hope to have a few auctions to list this evening..... we'll see how that goes! LOL But in the meantime, I have some good news to share! Back in October, I created several pieces for some upcoming magazines. One was for 365 Celebrate! the other for Soft Dolls and one more to be named later.

This is Crystal and she is in the Winter 2009 of 365 Celebrate! Connie Porcher puts together such a wonderful magazine! So much eye candy and lovely pieces for purchase. Thanks Connie for including me in such a great magazine!

Emily is in the covers of the March 2010 issue of Soft Doll Magazine. Another great magazine chalked full of patterns and techniques. This issue should be available by the end of January and includes the pattern for Emily and her bunny purse. Thanks Kelly for letting me and Emily in your magazine!

I hope you all are enjoying the new year and I pray that the worst of times are over and we can all look forward to a prosperous new year!
Primsical Blessings to you all!

Winter "Solstice"

Well, I hate to say it, but winter is knocking at our door here in Ohio. The beautiful fall leaves have peaked and they are slowing making their decent downward. The air has turned crisp and cool and believe it or not, we've had a few flakes come down a couple of weeks ago. So, with that said, I thought I better get it in gear and start some winter dollies. Here is my first snowgirl of the season. Her name is Solstice. I love her toile dress with subtle layering of fabrics and just enough bling to make her shine even brighter!
Here is her link if you would like to see more!

Happy Monday!

At least I hope it's a happy Monday for you! The only reason I like Monday's is because Dancing with the Stars is on! LOL I admit, I am addicted to it. Unfortunately, I have to work this evening, so my main squeeze is going to record it for me. I don't have anything to list on Ebay this week, but I am working on two new projects. They both will debut next year! Luckily, I will enjoy looking at them for the next 4 months in my workroom. LOL

I was going through some old files on my computer this morning, deleting ones that were no longer important and I found something that made me smile! It was a poem that my daughter wrote in 7th grade and I forgot all about it. I had to share it with you all because I can't believe a then 12 year old wrote this and I'm very proud of my girl!

Who Are Our Future Heroes?

Our future heroes
Are the kind, the caring, and the nice
Our heroes are people who
Give old toys to the poor
Or give up time to volunteer
Heroes are kind and caring

The people who say excuse-me
Or thank-you
Are very polite and have good manners
If they carry the books and binders
At school for those with a
Broken leg or arm
Heroes help one another

Future heroes are responsible
For what they say and do
They are also
People we often look
Up to

Our heroes are the sharing and true
Who never hardly lie
And share their things with
Other people
They are the people who do work
Without wanting pay

Heroes are those who help their
Parent or guardian
Do the dishes or cut the lawn
They try hard in school
And never cheat and play by the rules

They hold fund-raisers
For a good cause
Our future heroes help the elderly
Open doors
Or cross the road
Heroes are those that try to help all ages
Learn and try new things

Those who all they want back
Is knowing they did a good deed
Future heroes need all of these qualities so why don’t you try
To be a good role model to all humanity

Thanks for stopping by and have a Primsical Day!

Black and Orange Season begins......

June is the official kick off of the 2009 Halloween/Fall Season or better known as the Black and Orange Parade! LOL I have started this new season off with a sweet gal named Junie. The inspiration for her came when I was watching a movie called The Duchess. The movie was set in the late 1700's in England. The women were all dressed in corseted fashions and had big dresses and big hair! They also enjoyed their masked balls. Here is Junie's link if you would like to see more!

I recently changed my Ebay ID from kathysprims to primsicalstudios. My Etsy ID will remain kathysprims. (Too hard to change there!) Guess everyone needs a change once in a while.

Hope you all have a Primsical Day and many blessings to you all!

Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater......

hehehehehe Well, I had a little fun with a nursery rhyme last week when I was creating this piece. I'm sure you all know the old version of Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Eater...... well, here is my modern, updated one, in doll form:

Paula, Paula, Pumpkin Wife;
Tired of being couped up all her life.
She broke out of her pumpkin shell;
And now she keeps HIM very well.

Summertime Fun in the Sun!

Since a vacation, to the beach, is out of the question for me this year, I thought I would dream of it through my dolls. I love making my beach themed dollies and this guy screams the water!! He has three things going for him that I hardly ever do.....one, he's a boy; two, he has ears; and three, he has sculpted toes! I named my little man Big Ben, the Barefoot Beach Life Guard. Awfully long name for this little dude, but he is full of charm! Here is his link if you would like to see more pics of him:

Ben has FREE shipping to the US and ends on Friday night, the 15th of May.

Here's hoping your vacation dreams come true! Thanks for stopping by and have yourself a Primsical Day!

In the Swim of Things!

It's weird how little things will bring back memories of our younger years. Chloe reminds me of my teenage years when my parents packed up my sister and me and we headed to Myrtle Beach, SC. One of my most favorite and relaxing spots. Collecting seashells along the beach and walking in the sand for what seemed like forever. My most favorite part was just the sounds you would hear. The sound of the waves always made you relax and the sun brought warmth to your skin. Aaaaaaahhhhhh happy times!

So, in the spirit of all that, Chloe came to be. She is reminisce of a 1920's style bathing beauty. She has such a serene expression on her face and a wool bathing suit with bunches of hand-stitching. She has a sweet life preserver around her waist and who could resist that pinwheel!?!?

If you would like to see more of Chloe, here is her link on Ebay:
I hope that wherever you are, you can get out and enjoy your day!

Witchy Black Cat!

This sweet piece's inspiration was the dress fabric. It's a retro repro print with a Black Cat playing the fiddle, while an Owl dances. I wish I could find more of this retro fabric. It just has a different aura about it that brings back memories of the past. You know, when trick or treat was fun and safe and you could go, by yourself, door to door. When you could ride your bike around your block and not have to worry about anyone nabbing you. I miss those days and wish my daughter could have experienced that, but we are living in an age when I can't even let my girl out in her own backyard without worry. Anyway, here is my sweet kitty cat and her link:

Here's wishing you peace and happiness!

Once was old, is new again!

This gal used to be someone else a couple of weeks ago, but she didn't find a home. Soooooo, she has been transformed into a whole new person. (Boy, sometimes I wish I could actually do that with my own life!) I don't often do that, but this one was just too sweet and a whole lot of time and detail has gone into her.
She is my Hobbit Witch. Hope you like her. Here's her link on Ebay:

I actually got to work out in the yard yesterday. It was just a glorious day and today is supposed to be even better. I hope the sun is shining on you wherever you may be and have yourself a Primsical Day!
